About McBride

Located in the Robson Valley, the Village of McBride is a small and vibrant rural community situated along the Yellowhead Highway 16 in eastern-central BC. McBride was founded in 1913 as Mile 90 on the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, incorporated in 1932 and named after the serving Premier, Sir Richard McBride. McBride is located near the headwaters of the Fraser River and is flanked by the Rocky Mountains to the east and Cariboo Mountains to the west. The Village of McBride has a population of about 600 people and acts as a service hub for approximately 1700 residents of the Robson Valley. The railroad, forestry, agriculture, tourism and small business all contribute to the local economy.
