Summer Festivals

Pioneer Days / Adventure Weekend

An annual celebration of McBride’s rail, logging, farming and Fraser River heritage for locals and visitors alike.

Held annually the first weekend in June.

Cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.

2022 dates - tentatively scheduled for June 3-5.

Events usually include:

  • Parade on Main St., Show and Shine
  • Heavy Horse Pull
  • Loggers Sports
  • “Rock, Paper, Scissors” competition
  • Slo-pitch tournament,
  • Norman Lamming Memorial Horseshoe Tournament, kids races and crafts and Bingo
  • “Mission Impossible” for kids 10-18, kids crafts and games
  • Win a logging truck load of firewood!
  • Model train display, horse presentation, museum displays
  • Saturday night dance with "Roadside Splinter" at Elks Hall!
  • Sunday Pancake breakfast
  • And so much more…


Slo-Pitch Tournament

McBride hosts its annual Slo-Pitch tournament to coincide with Pioneer Days in June. Local and former residents and teams from all over the region compete in this fun weekend.

Dunster Ice Cream Social - Dunster

One of the Robson Valley's premier social events held at the Dunster Community Hall at the end of June, featuring all you can eat ice cream and pot luck goodies. Family dance 9pm until midnight – dance it off.

Robson Valley Music Festival - Dunster

Celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2014 - this annual 3 day musical extravaganza features local, regional and international music, dance and performance artists, workshops, and kids-zone.

Robson Valley Fraser Heritage Festival

Hosted by the Robson Valley Arts and Culture Council, the Fraser Heritage Festival is held bi-annually in September during BC Rivers day to celebrate our historical and future relationship with the Fraser River and other local waterways. Events include a Trapper's Rendevous, juried Art's Fair, a cabaret night, museum exhibits and children's activities.
