McBride Village Council agreed unanimously to close the Village Office effective Monday, March 23, 2020 in an effort to protect citizens and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Provincial emergency response.
All Village services will remain accessible by telephone or email during the closure which is expected to continue through to April 14, 2020. BCID Service Cards, BC Services Cards and BC Driver Licenses renewals will be provided by appointment only.
All Council and Committee of the Whole meetings have been postponed until further notice.
Council also agreed to extend the Utility Fee discount period to May 30, 2020.
McBride Council is heeding the advice of the province’s health leaders and professionals and respectfully asks that McBride residents practice social distancing or self-isolate during this crisis. Residents can find more information about the provincial emergency response, social distancing and COVID-19 facts at www.gov.bc.ca/covid19 or by calling 1-888-COVID19 (1-888-268-4319). Residents can also find information from the BC Centre for Disease Control at www.bccdc.ca.
